„We challenge you to shape our world“
Why choose us?
We believe that people stay with us because they have a passion for the business. They are excited about the opportunities to make the most of their talents and skills. But most importantly, they derive personal fulfilment from what they do.
Today, multinationals operate under greater scrutiny and regulation than ever before; and the tobacco industry is more controversial than most.
But British American Tobacco is a truly global organization. Our companies, including associates, employ almost 97,000 people worldwide and most of them stay with us for many years. So what are we doing right?
Well, we offer high rewards, substantial investments in training and development and truly international careers – but then you'd expect that from any world-class organization.
Obviously, we cannot guarantee you success if you decide to join us. What we will say is that we will challenge you, give you responsibility early, engage you and sometimes put you in tough situations. What we won't do is bore you or waste your talents.
Our vision is to achieve true leadership of this industry. There are serious issues surrounding our products and it's up to us to take the lead in looking for solutions. We're under no illusions that this will be easy but we are totally committed to making that journey.
British American Tobacco representative office in Belgarde was established in 1996. British American Tobacco has acquired Duvanska Industrija Vranje in 2003 and successfully localised international brands like KENT, LUCKY STRIKE, PALL MALL and VICEROY. British American Tobacco South East Europe covers end markets of Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Federation Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Srpska, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia.
If you are ready to take the challenge, travel and work outside Serbia, meet new colleagues and cultures - find out more about the programmes that suites your interests and profile.
The Challenge Initiative
The Challenge Initiative is British American Tobacco’s rigorous graduate development programme. The programme extends over approximately two years and is designed to prepare graduates to become our next generation of leaders.
Under the Challenge Initiative, you choose the function that best suits your strengths and the programme structures your development around a clearly defined set of deliverables.
You will gain support and encouragement from three sources:
• Your coach will be your line manager, who will work with you to ensure that you are reaching the standards expected of you and getting what you need from the programme.
• Your mentor will be an experienced manager from another function, who will share the benefit of his or her experience.
• Other management trainees around the world will provide you with an invaluable network of contacts.
Do you think you have what it takes to succeed with the world’s most international tobacco group?
Our goals are not only to continue creating sustainable shareholder value but to lead the tobacco industry in demonstrating corporate social responsibility. We aim to achieve this by optimizing our most important assets: our people and our brands.
We see graduate recruitment and development as part of our business strategy, ensuring that our company is equipped with managers of the highest calibre who can build our future. Each year we select, train and develop some of the world’s brightest and most talented graduates. Our unique management trainee development programme – the Challenge Initiative – has been designed to train them to a global standard of excellence.
